A MULTI-PURPOSE SPACE WITH A LOT OF PERSONALITY
Riso Pop is a print and stationery shop, an independent workshop and risograph studio, and the workspace of an illustrator.
For years, Aafke moved between different studios, gradually growing her practice, until she decided to create a space of her own. In 2024, she contacted us after finding the perfect place: a street-level space with a garden to enjoy during the summer, a small basement for exhibitions, and enough room to develop her work.

Inspired by the aesthetics of risograph printing.
A block covered in blue tiles organizes the entrance and marks the transition between the shop and the workshop area, without breaking the connection between the two. A glass partition with a bright yellow sliding door offers a glimpse into the workshop, sparking curiosity from the outside and reinforcing the relationship between making and showing.
The rest of the store evolved from an initial idea of custom-made furniture towards a more flexible solution, based on movable pieces and open spaces capable of adapting over time, growing and transforming according to the needs of the product.
The space was naturally divided in two by a bearing wall, which allowed us to separate the public from the private without losing continuity.
We designed a custom-made piece of furniture that organizes the transition between the workshop area and the printing zone. From the public side, it works as a library, with books, zines, and magazines at hand. From the printing area, it integrates storage for the risograph drums, incorporating the technical aspects into the studio's daily operations.
A piece that organizes, connects, and supports daily work.
